I must admit I have a really hard time talking about the truths of the bible with a very good friend of mine. In fact I tend to stay off the topic of the bible whenever we talk. In spite of this he has been one of my dearest friends for the last six years.
Today we spoke about our respective lives, catching up on where we have progressed since we last spoke. We talked a little about politics and that turned into a discussion about trust. You see my friend believes that there is nothing in this world that can be trusted. I could not let this one slip by.
I fully trust in God, I trust in his words, the bible. I do not share my friend’s opinion that the bible is just a collection of thoughts and ideas of learned men.
2 Peter 1:21 says that “Prophecy came not in old time b the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” The bible has proven itself throughout the ages. Jesus Christ himself demonstrated his confidence and belief in the scriptures.
Do you believe in the bible truths? What is the foundation for your belief?
Today I am thankful to God for giving me the answers, through his word, to life’s many puzzling questions.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16
